Finike, a genuine Turkish seaport, is situated on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in a beautiful valley
surrounded by high mountains it lies about 122 kms from Antalya. Large citrus tree gardens sorround the

FASELIS
Situated at the foot of Mt. Tahtali (Olympos) 15 km. south of Kemer, the three harbors of
Faselis denote the city as a busy trade center and the many ruins-aqueducts, agoras, baths, a
theater, Hadrian's Gate and an acropolis- denote the city's importance. There is a small museum
at the entrance.
OLYMPOS
 This ancient city is situated on the southern side of Mt. Tahtali. Coming by sea or land do
not miss the Olympos Valley shaded by oleander and laurel bushes and the refreshing quiet pools
of flowing, water. The play of light enhance the design of the mosaics in the ancient bath. A
mammoth temple gate and a large theater are of interest, too Other walls and towers around the
bay are from the Middle Ages.
North of Olympos, up from Çirali Beach, is Yanartas. (at a height of 300 m .) where according to mythology the

Chimaira was slain by the Lycian hero Bellerophon mounted on his winged horse, Pegasus. There is still gas

DEMRE
This is the ancient Myra, 25 km. to the west of Finike and is especially known for Noel Baba (St.Nicholas) who died
there in 342. In the 5th century
a basilica was built over his grave and later restored several times. Today it is a museum. Every year on December
6 the Noel Baba
Commemoration Ceremony is held attracting many tourists to spend their Christmas holiday on the sunny coast of
ancient Lycia. In ancient Myra
many rock tombs overlook the splendid theater. Dalyanagzi is the ancient harbor of Andriace but today perfect for
swimming in the cooling waters,
relaxing on the sandy beaches and stopping for a mid-day fish meal.
After your shopping is done stroll along the flower lined Akdeniz Promenade relaxing under the shade of palm trees enjoying the scenery.
KAS
Kas also
offers just the kind of night life you will welcome. Bars and restaurants are plentiful. Open buffet style serving, offering Turkish cuisine, is a
speciality of the town. Whatever, there is the possibility to find what relaxes you most.
From Kas. is the perfect spot to make a refreshing trek into the mountains. Walk through forested hills, visiting remote villages and the ancient
remains while climbing to the high ridges for a superb view. For the energetic, there is the option of climbing the highest peak in the area, Mt. Kizlar Sivrisi
(3086 meters) and the second highest, Mt. Akdag (3030 meters.
Kapitas is 18 km. from Kas along the scenic Kalkan road. Here again, is a beautiful beach and at one end is the Blue Grotto. Another 7 km. from Kapitas to the west is Kalkan.
KALKAN
The town is perched on a hilltop with its quaint traditional white washed houses, shuttered windows and balconies garlanded with flowers hanging to the street
below. Kalkan is the ultimate in a peaceful holiday. Narrow winding streets lined with souvenir shops lead down to the charming marina. Every morning
boats are busily taking tourists to one of the nearby beaches or small bays. As the sun sets, the Kalkan style welcome is to come up to their roof top terraces

PATARA
A principal harbor of ancient Lycia, Patara can be reached by traveling west out of Kalkan along a winding mountain road, entering Esen Valley and after 8
km. you will come to the ancient harbor. Apollo, who according to mythology, was born here and it is also known to be the birthplace of St. Nicholas. The
ruins are numerous and interesting. A long wide sandy beach that stretches on and on may be the main attraction for some, however.
KINIK (Xanthos)
The ancient Lycian capital of Xanthos is 18 km. north of Patara. The theater, Harpy Tomb, agora, an inscribed monument, the Nereid monument are of
interest as are a mixture of ruins from Lycian, Roman and Byzantine times. At the holy Lycian center of Letoon, 6 km. farther there are three temples
dedicated one each to Leto, Apollo and Artemis, a family of Anatolian mythological gods.
